    March 25 update.....

    Good afternoon families,
I would like to take the time to thank all of you for the support and patience during this unprecedented time. We are doing all we can to give you the resources we can to help support your children, especially as you are focused on keeping them healthy and safe.

As you talk with other Barry School families, please tell everyone to follow our facebook page. This page is my best avenue to share important announcements, but also to introduce new resources for families to engage your student(s).

Please be sure to keep an open line of communication with your teacher (email, facebook, class dojo, seesaw, remind, or phone) during this time of separation. Teachers should be actively reaching out to you all, but sometimes email go into Spam folders so be sure to check those spam folders.

As we prepare for next week and possibly beyond, there are 3 main ways to get work for your child and/or lesson materials:
    1. School website or teacher website
    2. Google Classroom (for grades 2-5)
    3. Paper packets to pick up at school ***
*** times and days will be posted tomorrow morning

Families in K-1 especially should be looking for information from the teachers in the next couple days about using a communication app (Class Dojo, Remind app, SeeSaw), as a main way to communicate with the classroom teacher and to find out how assignments will be done.

That's enough for now, but I will plenty more to pass along in the next few days! Stay healthy and safe!

    Mr. Endelos
  • Message to Families.....
    Hello Families,

I hope this message finds you and your family healthy and safe. During the current school closure, the district has prepared some digital resources to “keep learning alive”. Below is a link to the CPS webpage that offers great learning resources and district information.

In addition, the following link contains distance learning packets by grade level. These are optional resources for parents that wish to keep students engaged in learning activities.

If you are unable to access the digital link on the CPS website or print the distance learning packets, parents may pick up hard copies of distance learning packets either at your school, or 180 Broadway (Central office). These OPTIONAL Packets will be available for pick up at these locations starting tomorrow between 10:00 AM and 1:00 PM. Individual schools will designate locations for pick up. If you are unable to pick up the materials at the school, please contact your school principal via email and a packet will be mailed out. Packets will be available until Tuesday, March 24th at 1:00pm, starting Thursday at 10:00am.

Thank you for your continued patience and cooperation during this uncertain time. Please continue to check the school’s website, email, Facebook, or other social media outlets for updates.
  • Attention students in grades 2-5.........
    Good Evening Barry School Families,

In order to keep learning alive for our families who do not have access to a device at home, Barry School Students in grades 2-5 will have Chromebooks made available for pick-up on Monday, March 23, 2020. (There is a limit of 1 Chromebook per household and the student and parent / guardian must both be present in order to sign out the device).

Please note: Chromebooks can only access CPSGE email accounts in order to access student’s google classroom, google drive materials, and school educational links.

Most importantly, these Chromebooks may be signed-out Monday, March 23, 2020, between 10 AM - 1 P.M. outside the front lobby door. When receiving the Chromebook, the parent / guardian will be required to complete a form assuming full responsibility of the device and financial reimbursement if the Chromebook is lost, stolen, damaged or otherwise not returned.
